Cotton and Cornrows
Cotton and Cornrows is the debut poetry collection by spoken word artist and writer Millicent Campbell. Woven together like braids down a scalp, this collection explores the themes of race, gender, faith and love that lie inside all of us. Each poem gives a raw and honest look at the ways our background and ancestry shape our present and future. Millicent invites you to join her as she “traces the stories written in skin…and the line between braids” writing a truth that is deeply rooted like Cotton and Cornrows.
Made in Houston.
